Tahitian Tiki Figure | Natural 12"

This Tahitian Tiki Figure, 12 inches tall, is hand carved with a natural finish. Due to the requests of London missionaries, Tahitian Tikis were deemed rare items by the late 19th century, as all Tahitian Idols were ordered to be destroyed.

While Tiki carvings are not commonly associated with Tahiti, they have still managed to survive in some regions of Polynesia. In Tahiti, Tikis were known as Ti'i and can now be found in various museums across Europe.
