The Kotiate (Cut Liver) | Maori Club

Hand carved Kotiate by our onsite carver Richard Howell. This one of a kind Kotiate (Cut Liver), was a Maori hand club used in close combat. Maori warriors were fierce fighters and in the close confines of New Zealand's dense bush, small hand clubs were the most practical to use.

• Kotaite: Short club normally made of wood or whalebone.  
• Material: Honduran Mahogany. Inlays are Paua (New Zealand Abalone)
• Approximate Size: 15" by 6"
