This hand-carved Totem showcases the Hawaiian deities Kane and Kanaloa. According to Hawaiian mythology, Kane is the first to arrive in Hawai'i and is revered as the Life Giver. He is associated with agriculture, fishing, and procreation, and is responsible for the growth of sacred plants such as kalo, 'awa, mai'a, ko, and 'ohe. Kanaloa, on the other hand, represents hope and faith and is the deity of cleansing, freshwater, fishing, the ocean, and abundance.
Hand-carved with intricate detail and a stained finish, this totem is shipped out after being carefully oiled by hand. Measuring approximately 20 inches tall, it is skillfully carved from a single piece of premium Monkey Pod wood, resulting in slight variations in size.
