Tahitian Tiki Figure | Stained 12"

This 12-inch Tahitian Tiki Figure is a beautiful example of traditional hand carving and features a stunning stained finish. In the late 19th century, the ban on Tahitian Idols by London missionaries made these artifacts rare and highly sought after.

Although Tahitians are not widely recognized for their Tiki carvings, these beautiful works of art can still be found in some places in Polynesia. In Tahiti, they were known as Ti'i and now many of them are displayed in various museums throughout Europe.
