This 8-inch tall Tahitian Tiki figure is a replica of the rare hand-carved idols that were once common in Tahiti but were ordered to be destroyed by missionaries in the 19th century. Made from monkey pod wood, this figure is a unique addition to any collection of Polynesian artifacts.
While Tahiti may not be widely recognized for its Tiki carvings, these artifacts were still present in certain regions as a testament to their survival in Polynesia. In Tahiti, the Tikis were referred to as Ti'i and many of these pieces can now be found in museums across Europe.
