This hand carved Tahitian Idol features a stained finish and detailed Polynesian carvings on side of Ti'i. Also holds historical significance during the late 19th Century, the London missionaries ordered the destruction of all Tahitian Idols, making them rare items.
Despite not being known for Tiki Carvings, some Tahitians managed to preserve them in certain places throughout Polynesia. These Tikis, known as Ti'i in Tahiti, can now be found in various museums across Europe.
